Frequently asked questions:

  • What do I need to get started?

All you need is a computer or tablet with Clip Studio Paint EX or Pro (formerly Manga Studio). These lessons feature the desktop application primarily, but the techniques taught are the same on the iPad version. A drawing tablet is recommended, and although using a mouse for coloring isn't optimal, it is possible.

  • Can I download the videos?

    Yes, you can!

  • How is this different from your Photoshop coloring courses?

This course uses Clip Studio Paint instead of Photoshop. The Photoshop courses also cover more material that relates to storytelling, whereas this course is more focused on the technical process of coloring and shows a different lighting workflow.

  • Can I use [your favorite art app] instead?

For some of the lessons, possibly. If you are familiar enough with your preferred art app (Photoshop, Krita, GIMP, ArtStudio Pro, Sketchbook, Procreate, etc) to be able to find the equivalent functions yourself, you might be able to work out a similar workflow. This course only uses CSP, and I can't guarantee other apps are workable with these lessons.

  • Now that you taught me how to flat, do you need a flatter?

    No, thank you!
